The Best Wide Fit Shoes for Women This Fall/Winter
Style and comfort shouldn’t be mutually exclusive.
Finding Your Perfect Match
As the seasons shift and we reach for our coziest layers, it’s time to give your feet the same thoughtful attention. For women with wider feet, finding shoes that look amazing and feel incredible can feel like an impossible task. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
At Calla Shoes, we believe every woman deserves footwear that fits beautifully - whether you need EE or EEE width. We’ve carefully designed our collection to give you extra space in all the right places: the toe box, throughout the shoe, and in overall volume. The best part? You’d never know these are “wide fit” shoes just by looking at them.
Why The Right Fit Changes Everything
Let’s be honest, squeezing into shoes that are too narrow is a recipe for disaster. Pinching, rubbing, blisters, and aggravated bunions can turn even the shortest walk into an ordeal. Your shoes should work with your feet, not against them.
When your shoes fit properly, you can focus on what really matters: conquering your day with confidence. From early morning meetings to evening plans, comfortable feet mean you can show up as your best self, every single time.
Take the guesswork out of sizing with our handy “measure your feet” page - because the perfect fit starts with knowing your measurements.
A clean white grain-leather trainer with a removable moulded footbed, so you can drop in your own orthotics, and a fully lined seam-free toe box that gives the bunion a smooth surface. Lace-ups let you open the forefoot towards an EEE width, and the cushioned arch-supported insole carries a full day of walking. True to size.

Our Review
The Star is the trainer I recommend to anyone who wears orthotics, because the moulded footbed lifts straight out and my own insole drops in, which almost no white fashion trainer lets me do. The toe box is fully lined with no internal seams, so nothing rubs across my bunion on a long walk, and I can loosen the laces to open the forefoot when the joint swells later in the day. It runs wide to an EEE but reads as an ordinary white sneaker, so it goes with jeans and a blazer or a shirt dress without looking like a comfort shoe. I have walked through whole city days in them without the forefoot ache I used to expect. True to size for me.
Pros
Grain texture on the leather hides minor scuffs better than smooth white leather
Removable moulded footbed lets you slot in your own orthotic
Seam-free toe box lining over the bunion area
Lace-up forefoot adjusts from EE to EEE
Cons
White leather still marks in wet or muddy conditions
The Estella is Calla's zip-up trainer with no laces to tie, and black leather is the smart everyday one. A side zip means easy on and off without bending, while the removable moulded footbed and wider fit give the bunion room and take your orthotics. Fits up to EEE, true to size.

Our Review
The black Estella is the trainer I reach for when I don't want to bend down and tie laces, because the side zip means I step straight in and out. In black leather it looks tidy enough for a casual office or smart-casual day, not just the gym. The wider fit and moulded footbed give my bunion room, and the footbed lifts out for my orthotics. The zip also means a consistent fit every time rather than laces I retie. True to size, up to EEE.
Pros
Side zip means you slip the trainer on without retying laces
Removable moulded footbed for own orthotics
EEE width fitting accommodates wider feet than most trainer brands
Black leather hides scuffs and city-pavement marks better than white
Cons
Zip is a moving part that adds a wear point lace-ups do not have
No laces means no further width adjustment beyond the fixed zip line
All-black trainer reads more formal than casual so it suits office and smart-casual wear more than sport
The Star trainer in mocha with a soft borg-lined edge, the winterised version made for cold-weather walking. A fully lined seam-free toe box gives the bunion a smooth surface, while the removable insole takes your own orthotics. Fits EE-EEE, true to size.

Our Review
Mocha borg is my cold-weather Star, the one I wear from late autumn because the soft fur-lined edge keeps the chill off my ankle on a frosty walk. It is warm-toned and cosy without looking like a snow boot, so it still goes with jeans and a coat. The lined seam-free toe box keeps my bunion from rubbing, and the insole lifts out for orthotics like the rest of the range. The wider toe box matters more in winter when I want a thicker sock. True to size in a wide fit, EE-EEE.
Pros
Removable moulded footbed swaps out for your own orthotics
Seam-free toe box stops the upper rubbing across the joint
Lace-ups adjust around the instep for high or low arches
Fur-lined edge sits against the ankle for warmth
Cons
Fur edge marks more visibly than a smooth leather sneaker
Mocha colourway shows scuffs on the toe more than a darker shade
Flat trainer build suits casual rather than smart-formal wear
The Meredith chunky loafer in rich brown suede, the autumn one made for warm layers and transitional weather. A 2.5cm heel and cushioned sole give a day-long lift, while the toe box stays wide enough to give the bunion room. Fits up to EE, true to size.

Our Review
Brown suede is the Meredith I wear through autumn, because the rich shade pairs with camel, cream and denim and warms up a transitional outfit. The 2.5cm heel and chunky sole give it presence, and the cushioned sole keeps me comfortable across a long day. The toe box is wide enough that my bunion isn't pressed, which most chunky loafers get wrong. I keep a suede brush for it and avoid wet days. Fits up to EE, true to size.
Pros
2.5cm low heel keeps the foot close to flat for all-day wear
Suede pairs with autumn knits and denim
Hidden stretch panel sits over the bunion area
Slip-on construction with no laces or buckles
Cons
Suede needs weatherproofing before first wear
Brown suede shows water marks if caught in rain
Width caps at EE so EEE feet should size up or look elsewhere
The Freya is Calla's tassel loafer, and black suede is the soft, velvety everyday one. A hidden stretch panel in the toe box flexes over the bunion while the wide toe box gives the forefoot room, so a smart loafer doesn't press on the joint. Runs big in suede, so size down a full size; fits up to EEE.

Our Review
Black suede is the Freya I wear most, because the soft velvety finish dresses up trousers while still feeling relaxed, and the tassels give it a bit of character. The hidden stretch panel sits in the toe box and flexes over my bunion, so the joint isn't pressed the way it is in a stiff loafer. The wide toe box and cushioned insole carry me through a full day at a desk and out to dinner. The one thing to get right is sizing, since the suede runs big and I took a full size down. Up to EEE, and I brush the suede to keep it looking fresh.
Pros
EEE width cap suits wider feet
Hidden stretch panel flexes over the bunion joint
Flat profile for all-day standing or walking
Lamb leather lining against the foot
Cons
Sizing runs a full size large so you must order down
Suede upper picks up rain marks without a weatherproof spray
Black suede shows scuffs on the toe with regular wear
The Charlotte is Calla's crossover ballet flat, the one customers keep coming back to, here in soft black nappa leather. The leather crosses over the toes and stretches across the bunion, with a panel that gives both bunions and tailor's bunions room. Fits up to EEE, true to size.

Our Review
Black Charlotte is the ballet flat I reach for most, because the crossover design stretches gently over my bunion instead of pressing a hard line across the joint. The soft nappa leather gives where my foot is widest, and the stretch panel handles both my bunion and the tailor's bunion on the little-toe side. Enhanced arch support and extra heel cushioning mean it carries a full day rather than leaving my feet flat and sore. It is the flat I'd recommend to anyone after a bunionectomy who needs softness and width over the scar area. Fits up to EEE, true to size.
Pros
Stretch panel across the toe box gives over both the bunion and the tailor's bunion sides
Nappa leather softens with wear
Extra heel cushioning eases the back of the foot
Fits up to EEE width
Cons
Flat ballerina sole has limited grip in wet weather
Crossover stretch design relies on the panel rather than laces so cannot be tightened
The Ophelia is Calla's classic brogue in a mix of smooth black leather and soft suede, with the brogue detailing across the toe. A hidden stretch panel in the toe box gives the bunion room and flexibility, on an EEE toe width. Fits up to EEE, true to size.

Our Review
Black Ophelia is the brogue I reach for when I want a smart flat that goes with everything, since the leather-and-suede mix and the brogue detailing look polished with trousers or jeans. The hidden stretch panel in the toe box gives over my bunion so the brogue doesn't press the joint. The shape leaves extra room and flexibility through the forefoot. It is the flat I wear most through autumn and winter. Fits up to EEE, true to size.
Pros
Hidden stretch panel in the toe box flexes over the bunion joint
EEE width cap accommodates wider forefeet
Mixed leather and suede upper takes both office and weekend outfits
Flat heel suits all-day standing and walking
Cons
Suede panels need weatherproofing before wet-weather wear
Black suede shows salt marks in winter
Lace-up entry takes longer to put on than a slip-on flat

Our Review
Black Alice is the everyday flat boot I reach for, since the 4cm heel and soft calf leather are easy with jeans, trousers or a skirt. The back zip makes it simple to get on, and the extra wide toe box gives my bunion room rather than pressing it. The arch-supported cushioned insole means I can wear it all day. It is the go-to boot I pull on without thinking. Fits EE-EEE, true to size.
Pros
4cm block heel gives lift without strain through the forefoot
Back zip eases entry over a wider foot
EEE width cap accommodates the bunion joint
Calf's leather upper softens to the shape of the foot over wear
Cons
Leather uppers benefit from regular conditioning and weatherproofing through wet UK winters
Back zip is the only adjustment so calf width is fixed
4cm heel is not flat so will not suit anyone needing a fully flat boot
The Maisie kitten-heel ankle boot in soft black suede, on a 4cm heel with a wraparound detail at the ankle. The soft suede wraps gently around the bunion and the hidden stretch panels give the joint room. Fits up to EEE, true to size, though it may not suit a high instep.

Our Review
Black suede Maisie is the boot I reach for in autumn, because the soft suede and 4cm heel feel dressed-up with tights and a skirt. The wraparound detail at the ankle adds a bit of interest, and the soft suede gives gently where my bunion sits. The 4cm heel is just enough lift to wear all day. As with the leather Maisie, it may not suit a high instep. Fits up to EEE, true to size, and I keep the suede out of the rain.
Pros
Soft suede wraps over the bunion area without rigid pressure
4cm kitten heel adds a small lift while keeping a wider base
Wraparound detail at the ankle holds the foot in place
EE-EEE width covers a broader range of forefoot widths
Cons
Not suitable for feet with a high instep
Suede upper needs weatherproofing and shows water marks
Kitten heel won't add as much height as a mid or block heel
The Willow tall knee-high boot in soft brown leather with a ruched finish, the warm version on a sturdy 7cm block heel. The block heel gives stable height while the stretch panel in the toe and EE-EEE fit give the bunion room. Fits EE-EEE, true to size.

Our Review
Brown Willow is the tall knee-high I wear in autumn, since the warm brown and ruched leather pair with camel and cream and a midi skirt. The 7cm block heel gives height on a stable base, easier to walk in than a stiletto boot. The stretch panel in the toe gives over my bunion and the EE-EEE fit suits my wider foot and calf. I wear it over jeans for a taller line. Fits EE-EEE, true to size.
Pros
7cm block heel gives lift on a wider base than a stiletto
Brown leather pairs with denim
Cord and earth-tone knits
Ruched shaft adds shape around the calf
Fits EE to EEE width feet
Cons
7cm heel may feel high for all-day standing
Ruching can crease over time at flex points
Brown leather shows scuffs more visibly than black
