The Business

Founder and owner of Calla shoes, Jennifer Bailey

Hello!

I’m Jennifer Bailey, a 37 year old mum of two beautiful girls and a marketing professional turned entrepreneur, on a mission to make elegant and stylish shoes for ladies with bunions.

I’ve had the business idea for a long time (having been a long time sufferer of bunions myself) but just needed that shove to get me going.  In my case it was being made redunant while pregnant! I’ve had some time to reflect while taking maternity leave (well as much time as you can have while looking after two small children) and it seemed like the ideal way to get the ball rolling with a new business before launching with the first collection in a few months.

Setting up Calla shoes has been something I’ve wanted to do for a while, and has been an exciting journey so far with the research, networking and making contacts in the industry etc. I’ve decided to chart the journey of setting up this innovative shoe making business and share with others if they are wanting to go along a similar process. Hope you enjoy!
